You should also note that you will get some nice results, by searching here, in deviantART, for "fibonacci"

(My reference is surely inappropriate, regarding history. Although Fibonacci discovered the number sequence, which now bears his name, he didn't devise the spiral, and probably never drew, nor even saw, a "fibonacci spiral." He received no fame in his lifetime, and his number-sequence discovery wasn't noted by other mathematicians, until after his death.)

"Fibonacci" is shorthand for Filius Bonacci (indeed, a mathematician.)

Try an image search online, for "fibonacci spiral" and my reference to him will become clear.
